Product Description
Soft Coral Grow™ provides a bio-film that adheres to and enhances the coral’s mucus layer. This bio-film provides an enhanced environment for increased microplankton colonization allowing soft corals ands polyps to feed themselves more efficiently from the microbes already in the aquarium or added to it. This eliminates pollution caused by excess food. The use of the appropriate trace elements and water conditioners should be continued. Soft Coral Grow™ is a natural cultured detrital aggregate and algal colloids with no biocidal preservatives, as are needed in liquid coral foods. Results are usually seen within two weeks.
Soft corals and polyps primarily eat detrital aggregates colonized by beneficial microplankton adhering to , and in their copious mucus layer. These organisms farm their own food in their mucus layer. Soft corals are carnivorous and high-protein microbes support their growth and health.
Soft corals do not appear to digest phytoplankton (algae) but there is a positive response to their dissolved remains. They’re nourished through their mucus envelope mostly via the by-products of bacterioplankton. Large zooplankton are sparse in nature and make up a small amount of the soft coral’s nutritional intake. Microbes in the mucus layer are required to degrade it first. In time, mainly the bacterioplankton fix and reduce nitrates produced by this rotting food. These large pieces of dead coral nutrients are adding to the pollution in the aquarium until it’s consumed. Microbial enriched coral mucus also contains other beneficial organisms that may eat, overgrow or provide antibiotic by-products against pathogens.
Directions: Amount used depends on bio-load which is the quantity of soft corals and polyps in the aquarium. A starting guide is one-half teaspoon per hundred gallons every other day. Heavily stocked aquariums can consume one teaspoon or more daily. Excess will be picked up by the skimmer. Mix portion to be used in some reef aquarium water and pour into an area with current. It’s not important that all of it initially dissolves.
Contents: 6 oz., 170.4 grams of controlled cultured detrital aggregate and marine algal colloids.
Store in a cool, dry place after opening. Tighten cap well. A refrigerator is ideal. Avoid extended freezing.

I just wanted to send in a note to thank Jeff in regards to his helping me find the right lighting for my tank. I have a custom, 60" tank in which I had been using standard, 48" light hoods from the local pet stores (i.e. Perfecto lights). I had initially gone onto http://www.jeffsaquaticlife.com/ to purchase a standard 48" T5 light fixture after one of my Perfecto light strips burned out (3rd one in 4 years). Thankfully, the light that I had chosen was out of stock. Jeff contacted me to get additional information regarding my tank setup and was able to design a retrofit lighting kit, including a moon light, for my tank for the same cost as the T5 fixture. He also helped me during the installation process to ensure that I had everything wired correctly! For the first time, light now reaches the corners of my tank.

Jeff no problem, using the light with two bulbs out, like I said if one goes out another also is out, but whoooo this light is nice, and this with two bulbs out.!!. Hey Jeff, I just wanted to give you big thanks for an exceptional experience!! I've been an aquarium hobbyist/enthusiast on and off for the past 13 years and recently decided to get back into it.
