Majestic Angel Medium (Blue Girdled Angel, Very Nice Size and Color)
Product Description
Commonly known as the Majestic Angelfish, Blue Girdled Angelfish or Navarchus Angel. The Blue Girdled Angelfish undergoes a substantial color and pattern transformation from its Juvenile to adult stage. The Juvenile Blue Girdled Angel is characterized by sharp vertical lines alternating between blue and white. As the Blue Girdled Angel turns into an adult, those lines fade and the adult coloration becomes dominated by a yellow/orange color. The Adult color pattern of the Blue Girdled Angel is characterized by a yellow/orange body framed with blue at the head and just before the tail. The Blue Girdled Angel is one of the most ornate Saltwater Angelfish available to the reef aquarium hobbyist.
Blue Girdled Angels range most of the Indo-Pacific but are mainly collected in the Indian Ocean, near Bali, Indonesia and the Coral Sea. Coral Sea Blue Girdled Angels typically have more orange coloration in the adult stage.
The Blue Girdled Angel can be a shy species of Saltwater fish, so it is a good idea to make sure that it has plenty of hiding places while it acclimates to its new saltwater aquarium. That said, the Blue Girdled Angel is known for being one of the easier saltwater angelfish to keep. The Blue Girdled Angel needs Live Rock for grazing. While most salwater angelfish are known to nip at sessile invertebrates including Live Coral and Tridacnid Clams, many reef aquarists do attempt to stock the Blue Girdled Angel in a home reef tank.
The diet of the Blue Girdled Angelfish should consist of algae, fresh or frozen seafood, and salt water angel fish food preparations containing various sponges. Maximum Length: 11 in. Care Level: Moderate Family: Pomacanthidae Reef Compatibility: Add with caution Minimum Aquarium Size: 75 gal. Range: Eastern Indian Ocean, Bali Diet: Omnivore- Preparations with sponge, meaty fare, & algae. Water Conditions: 74-80 F; sg 1.020-1.025; pH 8.1-8.4

I just wanted to send in a note to thank Jeff in regards to his helping me find the right lighting for my tank. I have a custom, 60" tank in which I had been using standard, 48" light hoods from the local pet stores (i.e. Perfecto lights). I had initially gone onto http://www.jeffsaquaticlife.com/ to purchase a standard 48" T5 light fixture after one of my Perfecto light strips burned out (3rd one in 4 years). Thankfully, the light that I had chosen was out of stock. Jeff contacted me to get additional information regarding my tank setup and was able to design a retrofit lighting kit, including a moon light, for my tank for the same cost as the T5 fixture. He also helped me during the installation process to ensure that I had everything wired correctly! For the first time, light now reaches the corners of my tank.

Jeff no problem, using the light with two bulbs out, like I said if one goes out another also is out, but whoooo this light is nice, and this with two bulbs out.!!. The bulb is no big deal, not your fault new bulb was bad from maunfacturer this happens . Great service thank you so much for the fast shipment and super great price. Hey Jeff, I just wanted to give you big thanks for an exceptional experience!! I've been an aquarium hobbyist/enthusiast on and off for the past 13 years and recently decided to get back into it.
