We are fortunate to have at our disposal, an outstanding selection of chemical filtration media to confront the equally amazing number of issues our captive systems tend to encounter. What seem to be scarce are thoughtful solutions for incorporating these media into our existing aquarium filtration systems. Enter the Aqua Medic Bypass Filters, one liter capacity inline wonders to house the media of your choice. They are easy to fill, trivial to hang or mount, and very effective. Aqua Medic offers these bypass filters in two handy varieties. The Phosphafilter comes loaded with our Antiphos media to remove algae causing phosphates. The Carbolitreactor is packed with our highly active Carbolit carbon for quick stripping of organics and medicines, even for use as a long-term biological filtration. Of course, each bypass filter can be used later to effectively integrate any chemical filtration media that may be useful in solving issues as they arise.

When using the Carbolitreactor version for removing organics or discoloration, the Carbolit should be replaced every ten days The Carbolitreactor can be used for long term biological filtration, even denitrification if the flow rate is made sufficiently low Use Antiphos to remove phostphates form freshwater aquaria. Use Antiphos FE for efficiently stripping phosphates from reef aquaria where they can cause problematic algae blooms. Aqua Medic Bypass Filters can be refilled with other types of chemical filtration media. Use Hydrocarbonate as a media alternative for re-buffering the pH of Calcium Reactor effluent. Do not exceed 80 gallons per hour flow rate through your Bypass Filter.

I just wanted to send in a note to thank Jeff in regards to his helping me find the right lighting for my tank. I have a custom, 60" tank in which I had been using standard, 48" light hoods from the local pet stores (i.e. Perfecto lights). I had initially gone onto http://www.jeffsaquaticlife.com/ to purchase a standard 48" T5 light fixture after one of my Perfecto light strips burned out (3rd one in 4 years). Thankfully, the light that I had chosen was out of stock. Jeff contacted me to get additional information regarding my tank setup and was able to design a retrofit lighting kit, including a moon light, for my tank for the same cost as the T5 fixture. He also helped me during the installation process to ensure that I had everything wired correctly! For the first time, light now reaches the corners of my tank.

Jeff no problem, using the light with two bulbs out, like I said if one goes out another also is out, but whoooo this light is nice, and this with two bulbs out.!!. The bulb is no big deal, not your fault new bulb was bad from maunfacturer this happens . Great service thank you so much for the fast shipment and super great price. Hey Jeff, I just wanted to give you big thanks for an exceptional experience!! I've been an aquarium hobbyist/enthusiast on and off for the past 13 years and recently decided to get back into it.
