Aqua Ultraviolet Ultima 20000 Filter (ponds up to 20,000 gal)
Product Description
The Aqua Ultravioliet Ultima II Filter is available in four standard models suitable for ponds from 1,000 to 20,000 gallons capacity.
Aqua Ultraviolet claims that its biological filters take only minutes to backwash and can handle heavy fish and feed loads.
Equipped with ‘cyclonic’ back washing, Ultima II features Bio-Tube aqua media. These media are of tubular design, which aims to protect bacteria while dislodging unwanted debris. And is lightweight designed for very high flow rates.
The ‘Y’ shape and the inside wings on the outside affords a protective surface under the back washing and the company’s patent-pending backwash system will keep the media from clogging The same properties have been added to this media in three different sizes with random lengths and diameters to avoid stacking, one cubic foot of Ultima II media is equal to 750 sq ft. of surface area. Cleaning the filter is done by internal jets. The Ultima II filter, tested and used my MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) has outperformed the competition, according to Aqua Ultraviolet. Tested side-by-side against all bead filters on the market the Ultima II filters have been found to be "by far, the best," claims the company. The Ultima II, which is seeded with bacteria, works like a centrifuge. The valve being rotated to backwash will set the filter into cyclonic motion. A valve located inside the filter closes, which then diverts the water through the jets sending the media spinning out to the walls of the filter, while dislodging the waste, causes it to separate and be sent out through the waste outlet. The Ultima II will work with any pump appropriate for the pond in question. The Ultima II’s bio media with it’s patent pending design is light enough so that the water from the pond will completely and quickly backwash the filter. Filters can be buried up to the valve top.

I just wanted to send in a note to thank Jeff in regards to his helping me find the right lighting for my tank. I have a custom, 60" tank in which I had been using standard, 48" light hoods from the local pet stores (i.e. Perfecto lights). I had initially gone onto http://www.jeffsaquaticlife.com/ to purchase a standard 48" T5 light fixture after one of my Perfecto light strips burned out (3rd one in 4 years). Thankfully, the light that I had chosen was out of stock. Jeff contacted me to get additional information regarding my tank setup and was able to design a retrofit lighting kit, including a moon light, for my tank for the same cost as the T5 fixture. He also helped me during the installation process to ensure that I had everything wired correctly! For the first time, light now reaches the corners of my tank.

Jeff no problem, using the light with two bulbs out, like I said if one goes out another also is out, but whoooo this light is nice, and this with two bulbs out.!!. The bulb is no big deal, not your fault new bulb was bad from maunfacturer this happens . Great service thank you so much for the fast shipment and super great price. Hey Jeff, I just wanted to give you big thanks for an exceptional experience!! I've been an aquarium hobbyist/enthusiast on and off for the past 13 years and recently decided to get back into it.
